Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 6:30 at the Ponte Vedra Beach Library, the Gerson Yessin Music Series presents two of the Florida Troubadours; Jim Carrick and Charlie Simmons.

Both are extraordinary singers and finger style guitarists. Jim is descended from real folk routes, his father being a Tennessee mountain fiddler who moved to Florida to work on the railroad. A chance encounter with the legendary Storyteller and finger style guitarist, Gamble Rogers, left Jim with a gum pick and a lifelong friend. Jim has played in  Nashville with many greats Barbara Mandral, Hank Williams and Charlie Daniels to name a few.

Charlie had been playing guitar since he was nine years old plucking on his Sears Roebuck guitar. He moved to St. Augustine in 1970 and his musical career took off. He too met Gamble Rogers and was inspired by his incredible talent for playing guitar. Charlie worked for two years refining his picking skills, now is music draws on folk, blues, bluegrass and jazz. Come hear their musical stories as they sing and play.
